Sparkly Manicure

Let me start off by saying this looked a lot better in my head than it did on my nails.

I was at the mall watching the movie The Raven with my friend and we stopped in Claire's. Then I saw it, the color I have been wanting to get, Claire's Candy Shop. So for all of my fingers except my ring I did 3 coats of Claire's Candy Shop. On my ring fingers I did 3 coats of Sally Girl Type A and 2 coats of Confetti Party Palace Blue. This was my first time wearing all 3 of these colors. I topped them off with Seche Vite.

This color reminds me of those Pink Iced Animal Cookies. You know, the ones with the sprinkles. Yummy! This was pretty opaque and I had no troubles with getting the glitter on the nails. The glitters are different shapes and sizes. Some are small circles and others are medium hexagons. There is silver, green, blue, orange, pink, gold. Love this color!

Then for my ring finger I wanted to try this color out. I have never tried a Sally Girl Nail Polish but it was only one dollar so I thought I'd give it a shot. This is a neon purple. It dries matte like most neon polishes. The bottle it tiny which i was worried about because sometimes formula isn't that great on minis. I had no troubles with this one though. It was really cool but I wanted to add glitter to tie it in to Candy Shop. That's where this came in......

So I was at the dentist and as I was leaving she asked me if I wanted nail polish. I thought she was joking but she pulled out a bucket with nail polish and eye shadows. I grabbed this Confetti Party Palace Blue because I thought it looked interesting. I am so glad I did. Although it looks blue in the bottle, it isn't. Maybe if I tried it on a white polish it would show up as blue? The base is pretty clear but the glitter..... it is holographic! It is very subtle since the glitter is so tiny but it is so pretty. I   am not sure where they sell these though.

Any way, I will be taking this manicure off today because I don't like the way the colors look together. Oh, well.

Does anyone know here Confetti Nail Polish is sold? If so are there any cool colors I need to check out?

Finger Paints Hipnotic

I know these aren't new but this is my first time trying magnetic nail polish and my first experience with Finger Paints brand.

This one is Finger Paints magnetic polish in the color Hipnotic. I had been wanting to try magnetic nail polish but I didn't want to spend $15 dollars on a nail trend. I found this for $6.99 so I thought this was my chance to try it.
I definitely like this a lot better than the crackle trend in nail polish.

I used two coats with a base of OPI Chip Skip and L'Oreal One Stop Base. For a top coat I used Essie Good to Go. For my first time using it, I think  I did a pretty good job. I do think it will look even better with practice. This is like a berry color. I think it is really pretty, it looks better in real life. The first coat was a bit streaky with bald patches. I applied the second coat thicker and there was no application issues. If you are looking for an inexpensive magnetic nail polish, I would suggest trying Finger Paints' collection.

Have a good day!

OPI Samoan Sand and ULTA Little Black Dress

Sorry for the blurry photo, I don't have a fancy camera. Although it is color accurate. I don't know why I am holding my cat's nail clipper case!

This is actually the nails I wore for my prom. Well, my old high school's prom. I finished my senior year differently than the traditional route but all my friends still go to my old school :).

On to the colors. My main nail color is OPI Samoan Sand. For me, this is the PERFECT nude color. Here I have 3 coats so that it would be perfectly opaque. It is strange because I bought this polish years ago and I hated it. I played around with it recently and now I love it.

I almost always do accent nails. I can't do nail art so I guess adding an extra color is my way of adding a little something. For my accent nail I chose ULTA Little Black Dress. I was in ULTA when they were having a 2 for $4 sale so obviously I couldn't pass it up. This was one of the colors I snagged. LBD is a black creme with some small silver glitter. You cant really see the glitter in the picture though or in real life unless you look really close. Any way, this is 2 coats.

For both nails I used L'Oreal One Stop Base Coat and Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat. I also used a base of Red Carpet Manicure soak-off gel so that it wouldn't chip before or during prom. I'll talk more about Red Carpet Manicure soak-off gel polish in a later post.

I hope you enjoyed, have a good day!

First Post!

Hello! This is my first blog post ever! Let me begin by telling you a little bit about me. I have recently become obsessed with nail polish. I know I love reading other nail blogs so I decided to start my own. Compared to other nail polish bloggers I have a small collection. I hope my collection continues to grow. This fall I will be starting college and I'll be studying Biology. My dream is to become a veterinarian.  I hope you all enjoy reading my blog!

Enjoy a picture of my kitty (she will be joining me in school next year!)  and one of my dogs.
